Pangaea Zimbabwe Aids Trust is inviting proposals from reputable and qualified individual / Institutional consultants/service providers to conduct, lead and facilitate the end-term evaluation of the Wild4life Health Program.
About the Organization
Pangea Zimbabwe Aids Trust (PZAT) is a non-profit organization registered by Zimbabwean law. Through collaborative partnerships with governments, academia, other organisations, the private sector, civil society, and communities, PZAT’s mission is to contribute towards the improvement of health and well-being of the people in Zimbabwe. In its strategic vision, PZAT commits to supporting the progressive attainment of universal health coverage‚ hive endemic control and ending aids by 2030. Spurred by this strategic commitment and PZAT’s mission the Trust is invested in using research to develop and deliver programmes that enable the realisation of PZAT’s mission and strategic goal. The Wild4life Health Program is one of the major programmes under PZAT.
The Wild4life Health Program
Community health services approach in Zimbabwe and globally is recognized as a key strategy to help in achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) particularly SDG3 . In Zimbabwe, provision of primary health services is guided by the National Community Health strategy 2020-25 with a focus on rural health facilities and village health workers (VHWs) who act as the bridge between the formal health system and communities using the community health services model . In this context‚ the Wild4Life Health Program has been operating in 3 districts in the Matabeleland North province of Zimbabwe namely Binga, Hwange and Lupane. The overarching objective of the program is to address challenges and barriers to accessing primary health services in underserved, rural communities and help increase access and utilization of high quality and comprehensive primary health services in these rural communities. To fulfil the stated objectives, the program focuses on the following 5 key interventions:
1.To provide comprehensive clinical mentoring for village heath worker’s support
2.To strengthen health systems and outreach in rural areas
3.To improve data quality monitoring, data variance reporting and CQI
4.To strengthen district level leadership, coordination, and management.
5.To facilitate community mobilization and dialogue with local leadership over health access.
