Success Stories
Peer Model for PrEP implementation

PrEP Champion model was employed as a strategy to promote uptake and effective use of PrEP as a combination HIV prevention method among adolescent girls and young women (AGYW). PrEP access barriers at multiple levels contribute to AGYW vulnerability to HIV/AIDS.
Luba was trained as a PrEP Champion responsible for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) demand creation, mobilization and support of peers in the DREAMS Program in Matabeleland North, Nkayi district. She has been taking PrEP since November 2021 to date.
